In this article you will find:
What is MS Teams
Teams, provided by Microsoft, is a platform that allows simultaneous collaboration and communication between individuals in a team. It combines chat, video meetings, file storage and collaboration, and application integration. It can also be used in education to conduct online learning aside from the normal classroom environment.
Teams is part of Microsoft 365, which entails users to have Microsoft 365 Apps for business or Enterprise license to use it. Wageningen University members can access it with their WUR account.

Integration options in your course
Courses that use MS Teams as one of the educational tools might choose between two options:
- Your course might have MS Teams meetings embedded in the Brightspace course page. You will be able to access them with a link that will redirect you to a Teams meeting that you can open in your browser or in the desktop app.
- Your course might use an MS Teams team as a complement to the Brightspace course page. You will have access to a team which can host public or private channels. You will be able to chat, share files, start meetings and collaborate live with other members of your team.
Now you know how MS Teams will be used within your courses.
